The administration is very much aware of the advantages offered by walking and we will be doing all possible to maintain direct and indirect funding in the face of financial pressures. It is hoped that the Walking Strategy when published shortly will help the city by acting as a focus to attract more funding from external sources, like the recently announced Sustainable Travel Fund. I'm sure that we will talk again about this in coming months. In the meantime, I am grateful to the Ramblers Association for their interest and understanding.
