We have regular walks of varying distance and difficulty on Saturday Mornings, Sundays and Wednesdays. In the Spring and Summer we have shorter walks on Tuesday and Thursday evenings. Our walks on Wednesday and Tuesday evenings are usually accessible by public transport.
Non-members are most welcome to come on rambles, but after a few walks they will be invited to join the Ramblers. Please choose a walk to suit your ability, phone the leader to introduce yourself and to obtain the walk details. We have a membership of almost 1000 walkers in Bristol and over 2000 in the West of England area.

MEETING PLACE for Sunday walks unless otherwise stated, the group meets outside St Georges on Great George Street (off Park St). N.B. Walkers travelling direct to the start should understand it may not be possible to advise them in the unlikely event that a walk is cancelled.
Transport - Cars are shared to the start of the walk. Passengers should expect to pay 8p per mile + share of any parking or bridge tolls.
First Aid Kit - In your own interests it is recommended you carry a personal first aid kit. A suggested kit list is as follows: First Aid items for your own use e.g. Sterile dressings large/small & Eye pad, Plasters, Blister kit, Wound cleansing wipes, Triangular Bandage, 4"Crepe Bandage, Safety Pins. A group kit is not carried due to lack of knowledge of specific individual needs.
Membership - Non-members are welcome to join in rambles but after two walks they will be expected to join the Ramblers Association.
Clothing & Food - Please make sure you have proper footwear & waterproof clothing. If you are in any doubt contact the leader or a committee member. Denim jeans are not advised. Please bring food & drink (recommended 1 litre on full day walks more in hot weather or on longer walks) but do not consume these on pub premises. We leave no litter- everything, including all food waste (e.g. fruit peel) should be taken home.
Safety - Dogs must be on leads. Contact leader in advance re suitability. Remember sheep & cattle can be agitated by dogs. It is suggested you carry a whistle and especially in winter, a torch.
Every week Ramblers volunteers organise hundreds of group walks all over Great Britain, ranging from short local strolls to bracing hillside treks. Some walks are aimed especially at people in their 20s and 30s or families with children. Details of most of our walks are listed online. See Ramblers - Group Walks Finder A new version of the Walks Finder uses Google Maps together with a search to find walks by place, date, day of the week, distance and grade of difficulty.
