Meeting Place for Sunday Walks
The B group, Unless otherwise stated, meets outside St George’s Hall on Great George Street (off Park St). Cars to be left in Bristol are then driven to Priory Road / Woodland Road. As parking charges start at Great George Street at 8:00 it is advisable to arrive just a few minutes before the meeting time.
The A group meets at the Water Tower at Clifton Downs. Please arrive at least 5 minutes before the meeting time to allow time to organise car sharing.
N.B. Walkers travelling direct to the start should understand it may not be possible to advise them in the unlikely event that a walk is cancelled.
C (Easy) - Walks on reasonably level ground and at an easy pace. B (Moderate) - Walks which include some hills. A (Strenuous) – Generally harder than B walks at a faster pace which may include harder hill climbs. SB and SC – Shorter B and C walks. AHW (A Hill Walks) – Walks at a faster pace, some up to 4000ft and beyond of ascent, sometimes on rougher/wilder terrain. Less likely to have a pub stop. We’d like you to try at least one A walk first before going on an A hill walk. If this is your first hill walk with us please contact the leader in advance. BHW (B Hill Walks) - Generally more strenuous than a B walk with elevation tackled at a slower pace than A hill walks.
